Academic Summer Programs

High School Academic Summer Program

Victoria International Education is pleased to offer academic summer programs for students who plan to stay in Victoria over the summer. The Academic Summer Program provides students with an excellent opportunity to continue their studies through the summer and gain credits towards the BC Dogwood Diploma (graduate diploma).

  • The Academic Summer Program will provide students a blended model of instruction that includes online instruction with optional in-class learning opportunities. We will provide detailed information on the blended model June 1, 2020. 
  • The Academic Summer Program will be based out of the Uplands Campus. This is the home of the Victoria International Education team.
  • The Academic Summer Program dates are July 6th to August 28th, 2020.
  • Each course students take is worth 4 credits. Students can choose to take 1 course (4 credits) or 2 courses (8 credits).
  • Graduation program planning and post-secondary application workshops are a component of the Academic Summer Program.
  • Grade 12 students who have graduated and wish to remain in Victoria may enroll in University preparation options.

1 Course Option - Tuition $1250 + Homestay Fees $1950 = Total Cost $3200
2 Course Option - Tuition $2500 + Homestay Fees $1950 = Total Cost $4450

1 Course Option - Tuition $1250 + No Homestay Required = Total Cost $1250
2 Course Option - Tuition $2500 + No Homestay Required = Total Cost $2500

Middle School Academic Summer Program 



Victoria International Education is pleased to offer an academic summer program for middle school students who plan to stay in Victoria over the summer. The Middle School Academic Summer Program provides students with an excellent opportunity to continue to develop their English language skills with a specific emphasis on reading, writing, speaking and listening. Program curriculum will also focus on numeracy skills and Canadian cultural elements that include Canadian history, geography, and the national economy.

The Middle School Academic Summer Program will provide students with a blended-model of instruction that includes online learning with optional in-class learning opportunities for those students who feel comfortable being in a school environment.

  • To ensure a healthy learning environment, our classrooms will strictly adhere to the protocols and procedures mandated by the British Columbia Health Officer. Optional in-class learning opportunities will be held at the Uplands Education Campus.
  • Our online learning will promote student engagement with daily Zoom sessions focused on providing students with opportunities to utilize and improve on their English language skills.
  • The Middle School Academic Program will be taught by a BC accredited teacher with a specialization in middle school education.

Elementary Academic Summer Program 

Victoria International Education is pleased to offer an academic summer program for elementary school students who plan to stay in Victoria over the summer. The Elementary Academic Summer Program provides students with an excellent opportunity to continue to develop their English language skills with a specific emphasis on reading, writing, speaking and listening. Program curriculum will also focus on numeracy skills and Canadian cultural elements that include Canadian history and geography. 

  • The Elementary Academic Summer Program will provide students with online instruction.

  • Student learning will be supported through daily learning tasks that meet the needs of individual students.
  • The Elementary Academic Program will be taught by a BC accredited teacher with a specialization in elementary education learning.
